Successful treatment relies on a collaborative team approach of uniquely qualified individuals who can communicate and actively listen to patients and their family’s needs. A dedicated critical care neuro-intensivist working in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit ensures that neurology patients receive the latest treatments available and in a consistently patient-focused approach.
An important aspect of care is the support of the patient’s family and the patient’s successful rehabilitation after a neurological event. Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is one of only a few hospitals in Southern California that has a CARF-accredited Stroke Specialty Program. Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital is a specialty facility that allows us to provide a smooth continuum of care for patients and families close to home.
